Behind the Design
‘’The colours I used for this collaboration represent The Vondelpark, the canals & the summer time in Amsterdam. The blue-ish green and soft mint symbolize nature; the park and the green canals, the yellow and orange stand for sunshine and the transition of summer to fall, when all that is green will turn orange and yellow. In the summer, you increase your running and enjoy the vibrancy of the city. In the fall you appreciate Nature’s changes and how peaceful the city of Amsterdam becomes.’’ Pieter Ceizer
About Sky Medal
Sky Medal is not only a classic of the 90’s Mizuno running catalogues, but has since become a staple of the brand’s sportstyle collection. Sky Medal is a versatile style which offers the ideal canvas to this exciting project. The shoe’s graphic look is enhanced thanks to subtle contrasts between a white and off-white upper, a speckled heel and a brightly coloured sock. The sock construction and the leather and mesh upper strike the perfect balance between the athletic past of the shoe and its raw urban appeal, while the iconic ‘Runbird’ branding on the midsection being only edged with orange. The insole sports the signature multicolored pattern already seen on the Wave Skyrise, tying the two together in this unique pack.
